Vidya Balan’s love affair with traditional Indian outfits is an open secret. In comparison to western wear, the actress has managed to look good in the humble sari or a kurta-churidar, at most times. And if her recent looks are anything to go by, Balan who has been seen promoting her latest movie Kahaani 2, has been giving us fashion inspiration.
The actress recently stepped out in a linen jamdani indigo-blue sari with grey checkered lines by Anavila which she paired with a grey blouse. To complement her look, she picked a statement boat fringe double strand ghungroo necklace and a mystic ring by Ritika Sachdeva. The hint of pink on her lips only accentuated her fresh as a dew look, as she pulled her mid-parted hair up into a classic Indian bun and rounded it off with the quintessential bindi. Her simple and understated make-up only added more panache to her look.
This other time, Balan decided to go easy with her sari looks and instead flaunt a royal look in a handwoven and hand-embroidered dhaani kalidar and kathhai banarasi pants to promote her latest film in Mumbai. The olive green and brown ensemble was designed by Dhruv Singh and we think she did good by pairing it up with gorgeous cuffs and earrings from Amrapali Jewels. Her kohled eyes and pink lips only added to her beauty. Even though the kalidar did not exactly accentuate her celebrated curves as a sari would have, we love how charming she looks, with her bindi and classic Indian bun.
Which of Balan’s two looks is your favourite? Let us know in the comments section below.
