Sara Ali Khan has given us enough instances that prove her love for ethnic wear, especially easy-breezy salwar suit sets that she is often spotted wearing off-camera. But we recently saw her wearing a new style of kurta — which looked hugely inspired by the pishwas style suits. Though the traditional pishwas suit is longer in length and is often worn by brides in Muslim and Hyderabadi weddings, ace designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla gave it a modern spin by cutting down the length.
The Kedarnath actor wore such an ensemble by the designer duo — a beautiful red and gold embellished suit with bell sleeves — for Diwali. She completed the look with statement earrings, matching bangles, a small bindi and loose hair.

She was also seen in an off-white cotton kurta and churidar set which was similar in cut and style. At a Diwali party in Mumbai, the actor was seen posing with her mother Amrita Singh and a friend in the traditional ensemble which featured a thin gotta patti detailing on the hem of her sleeves and the dupatta. She completed the look with matching juttis and a black bindi.

Recently for a shoot in Mumbai, the Simmba actor was spotted in the same style yet again. This time it was a crisp white knee-length Anarkali kurta, which looked similar to pishwas style kurta, teamed with a plain white churidar.

Though pishwas are usually worn for events and ceremonies, the young actor has somewhat made it her everyday ensemble. Seems like it might just become the next big trend in ethnic wear — what do you think?
