The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), celebrating the finest cinematic masterpieces from the Indian film industry, once again took centre stage. The festival saw an outstanding display of glamour as the film fraternity showcased their stunning looks in full force.
Actors like Rani Mukerji, Bhumi Pednekar, and Malaika Arora graced the red carpet glammed up, decked in beautiful outfits. Let’s take a look at what the stars wore on the carpet.
Rani Mukerji
Rani Mukerji once again demonstrated her love of saris at the film festival. And this time, in a gorgeous black one by renowned fashion designer Sabyasachi. The actor wore a monochromatic black sari from Sabyasachi’s brand to the red carpet-event. Instead of wearing a straightforward drape, she radiated red carpet glamour in a sari with a feathery hem. Her Chanel pearls upped the glam factor even more.
Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi Pednekar donned an Alexandre Vauthier single-breasted blazer and slim-fitting midi-skirt, which she accessorised with chic black heels. She accessorised the look extensively with ornate chokers and exquisite wrist cuffs from Studio Metallurgy in addition to gorgeous, glossy makeup.
Before launching his own brand in 2009, Vauthier worked for Jean-Paul Gaultier and Mugler. He is renowned for the refined sensuality that his impeccable tailoring generates. Pednekar has joined the list of icons like Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn who were renowned for their penchant for feminine silhouette-focused tailoring.
Malaika Arora
Malaika was dressed in a ravishing crimson gown with a stunning thigh-high slit that gave the outfit a lot of pizzazz. She was wearing a gown with a turtle neck and no sleeves. Everything on Malaika looked beautiful, from the colour to the fabric.
The actor’s form was embraced by the gown’s fit, which went beyond simply emphasising it to produce a stunning silhouette. The huge fluffy flower on the bodice, which was both elegant and spectacular, gave the outfit a slight retro edge. Malaika, as usual, rocked the ensemble with the utmost style and exhibited her ethereal aura.
