Earlier this year at the Oscars red carpet, Priyanka Chopra stunned all in a white Zuhair Murad strapless gown. The former Miss World, told E! she aimed for a ‘comfortable, pretty, feminine, and very classic look’ for the event and as for all to see, she did. The Quantico star pulled her hair back into a subtle pony with a centre parting and also rocked a light, golden brown smokey eye. The only thing flashy about the look were her diamonds – the now famous chunky drop earrings and rings. Now, with 2016 coming to a close, Google Trends came up with a fascinating report on the most-searched topics in the world of fashion and, lo and behold, our desi girl made quite a mark. Google reported a 70 per cent increase in searches from India during Oscars night.
We believe the 33-year-old actress set a precedent with her appearance in the beautiful sheer gown. For her, 2016 has been a memorable year not just work-wise with blockbusters like Bajirao Mastani and prestigious projects like Baywatch but also on the fashion front. Things changed when leading American fashion stylist Cristina Ehrlich started working her magic on the Indian beauty. It’s unlike anything Chopra has sported before and we think it is a good mix of Hollywood classic, New York-inspired street style and sporty chic. Let’s take a look at the ones which made us sit up and take notice.
Priyanka Chopra dazzled in a Vera Wang sequinned dress with shades of gold and silver as she walked the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards in January at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre. She paired the stunning dress with a pair of killer silver Jimmy Choos. Dramatic eyes, subtle lip colour, Leticia Linton and Anita Ko earrings and rings from Djula and H Stern complemented her sparkling look.
After wowing the world with her choice of a white Zuhair Murad white gown, Chopra shone in a beautiful grey Jenny Packham gown for the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. She complemented the look perfectly with a sleek pony and matching jewels.
At the Vanity Fair Campaign for Girl Rising in February, Chopra looked stunning in a two-tone Three Floor velvet dress, with a peeking bra detail. She paired the outfit with silver Nicholas Kirkwood heels.
At the TIME 100 gala in April, Priyanka Chopra picked a white suit from Danish label ST. studio by Olcay Gulsen. The actor accessorised it with a lariat necklace from Lorraine Schwartz and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. It was a much welcome change from the dresses and gowns at the red carpet.
At an event by Carolina Herrera, Chopra was seen in a denim trench dress from the Spring 2017 presentation. High on the ’80s vibe, the boxy dress looked good and so did she. The deep burgundy lips and the high ponytail was just perfect to round out the look.
Priyanka Chopra nailed it in this beautiful Schiaparelli Couture gown at the IIFA green carpet. Styled by Cristina Ehrlich, the Baywatch star looked ethereal in a flowing chiffon gown with a Roman-style neckline, which she paired with classic Cartier jewellery.
Priyanka Chopra made sure her first time at Emmy 2016 was a night to remember. She opted for an understated look as she wore a plain one-shouldered scarlet number by Jason Wu. With her hair neatly tied in a ponytail with a side part, the actress finished the look with a diamond ring and drop diamond earrings. Though she wore light make-up, her vibrant red lipstick gave the perfect highlight to her look. The 34-year-old Quantico star even twirled for the cameras in her flowing one-shouldered gown.
Looking beautiful in an Atelier Versace backless blue column gown, Priyanka Chopra bared a good amount of leg at this event. The cerulean halter dress with a thigh-high slit was paired with Antonini earrings. She kept her make-up casual and simple, opting for nude sun-kissed look and a stylish, messy braid.
For the 2016 White House Correspondents’ dinner, which was US President Barack Obama’s last in office, Chopra chose a semi-sheer Zuhair Murad dress with a plunging neckline.
For the British film awards, or BAFTA, tea party, Priyanka went experimental with her look. She wore an Anita Ko dress with an Alex Mika Jewelry ring and Nicholas Kirkwood pumps. Her hair was styled by Hair by Castillo, and this is the most edgy hair we’ve ever seen her sport.
