While a monotone faux pas can result in one looking dreary, B-town fashionistas have mostly aced this tricky fashion trend. Starting from Karisma Kapoor to Kalki Koechlin, these divas show us that how monotone is not monotonous and can be interesting, if styled the right way.

Nowadays, Koechlin is busy with the promotion of her upcoming movie Ribbon and the actor seems to be preferring a lot of monotones. After the actor’s rendezvous in a velvet red mini-dress, she was spotted in a monotone moss green high-low tunic number from the house of Payal Khandwala, which she teamed up with stark white culottes and we think the combination really worked.

We like how celebrity stylist Shreeja Rajgopal chose to let the deep bottle green colour be the hero of the outfit by keeping the accessories to a bare minimum. Statement earrings with coin drops in silver from Amrapali Jewels complemented the actor’s ensemble nicely and we like Manjari Malik’s work, who kept the make-up nude with baby pink-tinted lips and a brush on bronze on the eyelids, giving the perfect backdrop to the bold colour the actor chose to wear. The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor rounded out her look with her signature pin straight hair parted in the middle, which always seem to work out for the doe-eyed beauty and hairstylist Justine Rae Mellocastro deserves credit for it.

We love the actor’s look but what about you? Let us know in the comments below.
