At the 23rd Kolkata Film Festival, it was raining stars during the opening ceremony. From stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Mahesh Bhatt, and Kamal Haasan, the event also saw the presence of Bollywood’s most loved on-screen couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol! While fans were thrilled to see the duo sharing the stage together and their candid camaraderie, we couldn’t take our eyes off Kajol who looked stellar in a Sabyasachi sari.

Wearing a dark olive green six-yards with gold zardosi work, the 90s superstar paired it with a simple half-sleeve blouse with a thin gold border.

Take a look at her photos here:

Her stylist Mohit Rai balanced the look perfectly with a pair of heavy Kundun earrings, also designed by Sabyasachi. The gorgeous gold peacock design, with smalls hanging jhumkas, finished with uncut diamonds, Zambian emeralds, and traditional meenakari (enamelling) work, is a treat to the eyes.

Matching the hand-dyed brocade “rinsed in tea liquor” of the sari, the make-up with smokey brown eyes, nude lips and a dewy glow complemented her look. Her long tresses neatly pulled back and tied into a simple ponytail with beachy waves was the right choice. All in all, she looked stunning in her elegant and classy traditional attire.
