He has spun his magic on the Parisian catwalks for years and clothed some of the world’s most stylish ladies. Now, designer extraordinaire Manish Arora has trained his eyes on the menswear market back home. In a unique collaboration with Indo-Brit fashion website Koovs.com, Arora will launch his first ever menswear collection comprising apparel and accessories. The ‘Indian by Manish Arora X Koovs’ capsule is inspired by graphics of Temari balls, a folk art form from Japan, and will incorporate busy prints with stripes and other geometric motifs. “I chose to collaborate with Koovs in India to provide consumers an exclusive opportunity to own a signature Manish Arora product at accessible prices. We are essentially a women’s wear brand, so we thought it would be a great opportunity to cater to men for a change. We have incorporated a lot of lucid, colourful prints and graphics into the collection,” said Arora, in a release. The collection comprising bomber jackets, shirts, T-shirts, vests, sweatshirts, trousers and shorts, and accessories such as backpacks, high-tops, espadrilles, flip flops, socks and phone covers, is priced between Rs 495 and Rs 1,995 and will launch on the site on March 31.
