Monochrome never seems to go out of style and Bollywood divas are clearly under its spell. From Deepika Padukone to Katrina Kaif and Malaika Arora, many Bollywood divas stepped out in black-and-white designer ensembles recently. The dull tones and the lack of a pop of colour can make monochromes boring. However, the celebs totally nailed their fashion choices by giving their attires an interesting spin. What’s more, it brought a touch of sass and class too.

So, if you’re wondering how to carry off that boring black dress from your wardrobe for a party you want to attend, take some inspiration from these Bollywood beauties. Check out some of the outfits here.

Deepika Padukone

Sticking to the ethnic feel of her upcoming movie ‘Padmavati’, Padukone wore a stunning monochrome number from the house of Sabyasachi Mukherjee. We love the black kurta with intricate silver beadwork, which she teamed up with white leggings. The organza dupatta she draped with the suit added elegance to her attire and we like the heavy border and the chic silver embellishments on it. The 31-year-old complemented her attire with statement earrings from Amrapali jewels and rounded off her look with dewy make-up and nude lips.

Katrina Kaif

Looking chic in a monochrome outfit, Kaif was spotted at the ‘Lip Sing Battle’ in a special appearance. The actor paired black pants by BCBG with a top of the same colour. We like the lace detailing, and it prevented the outfit from falling flat against a soigne white blazer from the same brand. She cinched the blazer with a black belt. The solid white and pearl earrings and black shoes from Zara rounded off her look nicely.

Malaika Arora

The diva left the temperatures soaring in a black leather bustier by Danielle Guizio and white faux wrap pants from Martha Fadel. She looked stunning with pin straight hair and nude make-up. The metallic sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti added bling to her monochrome outfit.

Kalki Koechlin

While Kalki Koechlin has taken a like to the monotones, monochromes seem to be on her list too. The ‘Ribbon’ actor wore a black top with white polka dots from Nachiket Barve and we think she looked cute. Stylist Shreeja Rajgopal teamed the top with black pants that had an applique detailing on it. Rounding off her look with H&M earrings in black, the actor managed to sail through without being boring.

Amrita Arora

Amrita Arora enthralled in a black Raven and Rose number. We like the bare-back dress with enticing straps that looked gorgeous in its simplicity. She complemented her look with glitzy shoes, nude make-up and soft curls.
