French luxury brand Coperni knows how to grab attention – whether it be by introducing robots on the runway for the first time or spray painting a dress on supermodel Bella Hadid’s body on stage. Now, it has recently introduced limited edition bags made using meteorite rock and is priced at a whopping 40,000 euros (Rs 35 lakh). Known as the ‘mini meteorite swipe bag’, each piece is exclusively handmade and hence the shape of the product may vary slightly from the picture.
According to Coperni’s official website the bag weighs around 1.8 kilograms and has a total height of 23 centimeters. “The meteorite will be individually sourced per each order and can come from various locations, depending on where the meteorite fell on earth. The rare Stone is crafted by hand and incorporated into the bag by the Italian factory Semar,” states the website.

The mini meteorite rock bag is part of the Fall/Winter 23 collection. The brand describes it as “a unique object that subtly combines archeology, design, and classical and primitive art. The specific meteorite featured in the photograph, is estimated to have fallen on Earth 55,000 years ago and is certified 100 per cent authentic by Theatrum Mundi.
The limited edition bag will take close to six weeks for it to be delivered to you if you plan to order one. It is however, non-refundable. The bag will also come with a certificate of authenticity.

Previously, when Coperni introduced robots on the runway, it described the show as “a modern fable”, reconfiguring Jean de la Fontaine’s 17th-century poem The Wolf and the Lamb into a story about power relationships between humans and robots. “Unlike the original fable written in the 17th century, which raises questions relating to the balance of power between the human groups that make up society, Coperni reinterprets the story and transposes it to the year of 2023 with a positive vision of the future,” the brand explained in a post on Instagram.
