It would not be wrong to say that the Cannes Film Festival has taken the fashion world by storm with celebrities donning some of the most exquisite outfits — both, on and off the red carpet. Among them, on Day 7, were some of the biggest names in the Indian film and fashion fraternity, such as Shruti Haasan, Esha Gupta, Diana Penty, Mrunal Thakur, and others who were spotted walking the carpet as well as roaming around the French Riviera in glamourous avatars.
Today, we are here with some of the best looks from the seventh day of the most-coveted film festival. Take a look below:
Shruti Haasan
Shruti Haasan made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival in a mesmerising black gown, a sustainable creation by designer Vaishali S. The ensemble included sheer details and a huge floral embellishment in the front. The actor wore a tube crop top and mini skirt underneath, and opted for diamond earrings and strappy black heels as accessories. For makeup, she went for a bold red lip, eyeshadow and rouged cheeks, and styled her hair in a sleek fashion.
Sharing details of her OOTD, the actor wrote on Instagram: “Goth flower child … so happy to wear such a talented Indian designer @vaishalisstudio in this beautiful sustainable creation 💎🧿🖤”
Mrunal Thakur
Mrunal Thakur looked simple yet chic in a head-to-toe brown ensemble which featured a satin shirt, matching pants, and a trench coat. She paired the look with sunglasses, dangling earrings and pointed-toe heels. Styling her hair in a loose bun, she opted for nude makeup to complete the look.
Diana Penty
Diana Penty has once again impressed us with her red-carpet look. She captivated us with her avant-garde ensemble — a beige gown with pearl embellishments, sheer details, dramatic sleeves and a figure-hugging shape by designer Saiid Kobeisy. As for her hair, she went for a messy braid adorned with pearl ornaments and opted for dewy makeup.
Opening up about her look, stylist Namita Alexander wrote: “Unlike the sunny times this time of year in Cannes, this May the weather was a bit grey and cloudy with rain. The mood was romantic and that’s what we intended to communicate with this look for press day in Cannes – ‘Romance in the riviera’. I love a good leg mutton sleeve. It compliments most body types, as it gives you an illusion of a much smaller waist. This dress felt wispy yet strong, much like Diana’s personality which is soft but strong. A dichotomy that works. It’s no surprise then that this turned out to be one of her favourite dresses! The Lebanese couturiers give us so much, and Mr Kobeisy gave us modern-day woman elegance with his choice of fabric and pearl work.”
Esha Gupta
Esha Gupta looked stunning in a sky-blue bodycon dress with quirky patterns. The dress featured a turtle neckline, cut-outs on the shoulder and a figure-hugging silhouette. She accessorised the outfit with iridescent heels, black sunnies and a hot pink handbag. Keeping her makeup subtle, she styled her hair in a sleek bun.
Mouni Roy
Mouni Roy dazzled in a glittery gown with a corset bodice and a plunging neckline. The body-hugging silhouette cascades into a feathery long train. The Brahmastra actor opted for a diamond choker and sunglasses for accessories. She styled her hair in a bun and kept her makeup minimal.
