Ahead of her much-talked-about debut at the Met Gala 2023 — a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, on Monday — Alia Bhatt has arrived in New York City. This year, the ‘fashion’s biggest night’ will be celebrated with the theme ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ in honour of the acclaimed fashion designer who passed away in 2019.
As we wait for the actor’s appearance with bated breaths, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of her most glamorous appearances in recent times.
For the opening ceremony of NMACC, she slipped into a heavily embellished golden Elie Saab gown featuring intricate stones studded all over the ensemble. The strappy gown with a flowy silhouette was beautifully complemented with a matching cape-like dupatta featuring a long train.
She exuded unmatchable elegance in this pleated sequin silver sari which was paired with a stone-studded bustier blouse and a broad diamond choker along with matching earrings and a bracelet.
For an award function, she donned this gorgeous sea-green gown with a plunging neckline, a thigh-high slit, and midriff cutouts. It was accessorised with a diamond neckpiece and dewy makeup.
For the Time Impact Awards 2022, she wore a custom Gauri and Nainika gold plissé lamé gown with cape sleeves. With her hair left open in curls, she rounded off this look with minimal accessories and makeup.
For Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s wedding reception, she wore a shimmery silver sari by designer Sawan Gandhi and teamed it with a matching sleeveless blouse featuring a plunging neckline.
For the promotion of her film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, she wore an array of all-white ensembles. Take this embroidered white sari for example, which she paired with a sleeveless v-neck blouse, heavy dangling earrings, and a white gajra.
A fan of six yards, she was seen in yet another gorgeous creation — a blue and green Banarasi number paired with a matching sleeveless blouse, golden jhumkas, and a white gajra adorning her sleek bun.
Serving bridesmaid fashion goals, she wore a stunning yellow Chikankari lehenga by designer Manish Malhotra and teamed it with a matching infinity blouse and a dupatta.
