Pune schoolgirl Vaidehi Reddy’s Google Doodle will make its presence felt today on Google homepage on the occasion of Children’s Day. Vaidehi who competed with 12 finalists in the Doodle design competition, called Doodle4Google contest a couple of days back, depicted Assam on her Doodle to make it to Google Homepage today.
The theme for this year’s competition was ‘A place in India I wish to visit’. The winning Doodle is titled “Natural and Cultural Paradise – Assam”.
While the winning doodle got the chance to shine on Google Homepage, all the other finalists will receive a certificate of achievement and a Chromebook laptop.
The victory in the competition has come as special gift for Reddy, who will celebrate her birthday on Friday. “It’s great coincidence that my Doodle will be featured on Google website on my birthday. I will remember this forever,” said Reddy.
Reddy, a class IX student of Army Public School, Pune, said the achievement would further strengthen her bond with drawing and painting.
“I dedicate the win to my family members, Kanaka Madhusudan and my other teachers and friends. With their support and encouragement, I would like to scale greater heights in the field of my choice,“ she said.
