Talking about the auction that will take place on July 19-20, in a statement, Larissa Guimaraes, International Art Consultant, AstaGuru Auction House, said, “With a focus on paper and editions, the auction features such a diverse array of lots that it successfully caters to new and seasoned collectors alike. Price points are in variety, going from (Fernando) Botero’s latest paper creations to quintessential (Marc) Chagall watercolours; sizes range from Dalí’s meticulous drawings to (Amedeo) Modigliani’s monumental efforts and artists and movements span Turner’s pre-modern skill to (Jeff) Koons’ and (Damein) Hirst’s contemporary creativity.”

Leading the auction, with an estimate of Rs 9, 00,00,000 – 12,00,00,000, is Italian sculptor Amedeo Modigliani’s Tetê De Cariátide (Head of Caryatid). Conceived in 1906, it was cast later.

art Chagall’s 1980 gouache Résonances De Vitebsk Pour La Famille (Sounds Of Vitebsk For The Family) was inspired by his hometown Vitebsk in Belarus

While Turner’s watercolour and ink on paper Fishermen With Their Nets Off A Sandy Bank showcases his commitment to exploring landscape, Chagall’s 1980 gouache Résonances De Vitebsk Pour La Famille (Sounds Of Vitebsk For The Family) was inspired by his hometown Vitebsk in Belarus. Picasso is being represented with a 1971 pencil on card Homme Assis (Seated Man). The three works by Dali include 1971 Le Bracelet Hermès (The Hermès Bracelet) and Reina (Queen), and 1959 Le Corregidor Et La Meuniere (The Corregidor And The Miller).

Also part of the auction is Japanese pop artist Yayoi Kusama’s 2005 painted styrofoam and urethane resin sculpture Hi Konnichiwa (Hello Goro!) and Damien Hirst’s 2009 Circle Spin Painting.
