Students of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) second batch at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta scored impressive internship opportunities. The highest offer came with a monthly stipend of Rs 2.45 lakh from an international company.
The recruiters included Fortune 500 companies like Walmart Labs, American Express, MasterCard, Dunia Finance, Mitsubishi Fuso and Truenorth. The average monthly stipends offered by domestic recruiters was Rs 92,447 and that of international recruiters was Rs 97,804.
The course is conducted jointly by IIM Calcutta, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and Indian Statistical Institute. It covers a unique curriculum which includes statistics, technology and business that aims to develop the students’ interdisciplinary educational experience. The current batch comprises of 51 students from varied professional backgrounds.
The highest offer from a domestic recruiter this year was at a stipend of Rs 1,25,000. Students gained internships in industries like financial services, financial research, technology, consulting, data science, business analysis, risk analysis and business consultancy among others.
