Trinamool strongman Arabul Islam released on bail

Arabul,who was accused in a case of arson at Bamunghata granted bail by Alipore court.

Ruling Trinamool Congress strongman Arabul Islam,who was accused in a case of arson at Bamunghata in the Bhangar area,was today released on bail after spending 43 days in custody.

Arabul,who was lodged in Alipore Central Jail,was granted conditional bail by the chief judicial magistrate,Alipore court,yesterday.

This was Arabul’s fifth attempt in getting bail in the case,having been refused four times earlier.

He was,however,directed not to enter the Leather Complex police station area,under the jurisdiction of which the place of arson falls.

The former Bhangar MLA was accused of involvement in the burning of vehicles of CPI(M) supporters and assault.

Arabul was also charged with assault on opposition CPI(M) MLA Rezzak Mollah when the senior CPI(M) leader was leading a rally past a meeting being held by the former at Bhangar.

He was earlier granted bail in the case.
