A Delhi special court on Monday granted regular bail to businessman Rajiv Saxena, arrested in Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland money-laundering case, considering his “serious medical condition”.
Special Judge Arvind Kumar extended the relief after perusing the fresh medical report submitted by AIIMS. The court observed, “It is clear from the medical record that accused is suffering from number of serious ailments including blood cancer and there is rise in WBC of the accused. The accused needs constant medical care and attention. He is required to undergo regular checkups… Considering the overall facts and circumstances and the serious medical condition of accused, the accused is admitted to bail on his furnishing personal bond in the sum of Rs five lakh with two sureties of the like amount.”
It, however, imposed stringent conditions on Saxena and ordered that the accused shall not leave India without the permission of the court.The court also said that Saxena “shall not tamper with evidence”.
