The incident took place on the outskirts of Luhari village. Another man, Wasim, who tried to save Irshad Mohammad, also suffered injuries, police said.
“A complaint has been filed by the victim’s father, Imamuddin Mohammed, against six persons under IPC sections 302 (murder), 504 (intentional insult with provoke breach of the peace), 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt),” said Superintendent of Police (Hapur) Abhishek Verma.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7:30 pm Tuesday when Irshad was returning to Luhari village on a bike. While passing the Ramlila ground on the outskirts of the village, his bike hit a man who had come to the place along with his friends to take part in Dussehra festivities.

As news of Mohammad’s death reached the village, his family members and locals reached the spot. Both groups allegedly attacked each other. “We have identified five people who beat up Irshad and they will be arrested soon. An FIR was filed at Bahadurgarh police station. Adequate police force has been deployed at Luhari village,” said Verma.
