Udaipur Police have arrested three people — including the CEO and executive head of a private company — for allegedly gang-raping a woman employee of the firm in a moving car. A woman is among those arrested.

Besides the CEO, the woman executive head of the company and her husband have also been arrested. The arrests were made in the early hours of Thursday, and the suspects were remanded to police custody by a local court.

Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal told The Indian Express that the incident occurred in the early hours of December 21, with medical examination confirming injuries consistent with sexual assault. The suspects and the survivor had attended a party to celebrate the CEO’s birthday.

According to the police, the party went on late into the night, after which the suspects asked other guests to leave, leaving the survivor alone with them.

Soon after, the suspects helped the survivor into her car, promising to drop her home, but allegedly gave her something that knocked her out. The CEO and the executive head’s husband then took turns to sexually assault her, the victim said in her statement. She filed the complaint after checking her car’s dashcam, the statement added.

Police said the complaint was filed on December 23, adding that the “medical report has corroborated the victim’s allegations, and further legal action will follow based on the ongoing probe”.
