The Class 10 Madhyamik exams conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) began Tuesday under tight security measures. The matriculation level board examinations commenced with the English paper at 12 pm, held across 145 venues within 68 centres in the state. According to the TBSE, 30,126 candidates are registered for the board examinations.
There have been no reports of any incidents during the examinations thus far. Meanwhile, students leaving the examination halls at various centres said the question paper met their expectations and claimed that their exams went quite well.
After emerging from the examination hall this afternoon, Arpita Paul, a student at Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan, told reporters that she found the questions to be “common” based on her preparation and felt that her exam went very well.
“Overall, all the questions were expected as per whatever was taught to us in school and whatever I had prepared. It was a good exam for me,” she said.
Nirban Paul, a student from Ramakrishna Vidyamandir, expressed confidence in his performance, stating that he was able to answer all the questions on time and did not encounter any difficulties. “I will easily score over 50 out of 80 in the written exam,” he said.
Several other students expressed that the questions met their expectations, but they were unable to answer all of them due to time constraints. The Madhyamik candidates will take the exams for Bangla, Kokborok, Hindi, or Mizo on February 28, followed by social science on March 4, science on March 8, mathematics (both basic and standard levels) on March 13, and a vocational subject on March 18.
The TBSE-conducted Class 12 board examinations began on February 24, starting with the English paper at 60 centres. This year, 21,506 candidates registered for the higher secondary board examinations.
Following the English exam, Class 12 candidates will take the following papers: Bangla, Hindi, and Kokborok on February 27; chemistry and political science on March 1; business studies, education, and physics on March 3; accountancy, biology, and history on March 5; mathematics and philosophy on March 7; economics on March 10; psychology on March 12; geography on March 14; Sanskrit, Arabic, and statistics on March 17; sociology on March 19; and finally, computer science and music on March 21, with vocational subject exams scheduled for March 22.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, who also oversees the education portfolio, took to social media to wish success to both Class 12 and Class 10 candidates. He said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the candidates of Madhyamik and higher secondary examinations this year. I wish everyone at this important stage of building their future success.”
