Suchana Seth’s mental state to be re-evaluated as Goa court allows her father’s plea

Goa police had earlier told the Children's Court that her mental health assessment did not find any case of psychopathology and that she gave "clear and rational answers" during her medical examination.

A court in Goa on Monday allowed a plea by the father of Suchana Seth, the Bengaluru-based CEO accused of murdering her four-year-old son at a hotel in January, for another medical examination to be conducted by a board of doctors under the Mental Healthcare Act.

Suchana’s advocate, Franco, said, “The operative part of the order is that she will have to be referred to a medical board under the Mental Healthcare Act for further assessment. A letter will be issued to the investigating officer concerned to produce her before a board of doctors for an assessment of her mental health condition. The plea also states to look into the history of her illness.”
