Sources said the high command has not made any attempt to reach out to Pilot after he launched a no-holds-barred attack against CM Ashok Gehlot. The party, some leaders said, would wait and see the response Pilot’s padayatra receives before deciding the next move.

Responding to Gehlot’s statement that Raje had helped save his government in 2020, Pilot Tuesday argued that it appeared Gehlot’s leader was Raje, and not Sonia Gandhi. “I thought it was a joke because I laughed hearing that..I thought he may have said it jokingly..,” head of the Congress’s media and publicity department Pawan Khera said at a press conference when asked about Pilot’s remarks.
