In an unprecedented incident,a group of miscreants vandalised an statue of late CPM patriarch and former chief minister Jyoti Basu. The statue at Salkia in Howrah district was defaced using tar at the wee hours today.
The incident has triggered an outrage among the Left supporters and workers. This is the first such instance in West Bengal in which Jyoti Basu’s statue has been damaged and defaced.
