A record 82.1 per cent electorate exercised its franchise in the assembly and parliamentary polls in Sikkim,a state election department official said on Friday.
The voters’ turn out at Friday’s polling for 32 assembly seats and the lone Lok Sabha constituency has been an estimated 82.10 per cent,the Additional Chief Electoral Officer (ACEO) DK Pradhan said in Gangtok.
Poklok-Kamrang assembly constituency from where the Chief Minister and the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) president Pawan Kumar Chamling is seeking a sixth-term in the state legislature polled 85.21 per cent votes,while another constituency Namchi-Singhithang having Chamling in the fray polled 74.33 per cent.
