After the successful stint of Red ribbon,a Multi Media Campaign (MMC) on HIV/AIDS through musical concerts in Arunachal Pradesh last year,the second edition of the campaign which has been rechristened as Red Rock fest,will be launched from Ziro,the headquarters of Lower Subansiri district.
Chief Minister Nabam Tuki will launch the campaign at Ziro on January 27,official sources said on Monday.
Red Rock fest is an endeavour on part of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO),through State AIDS Control Societies in the Northeastern region of the country to generate mass awareness on HIV/AIDS among the youth between the age group of 15 and 29 years.
The multi media campaign aims to capitalize on the popularity of local entertainment avenues among youth like music concerts.
In Arunachal Pradesh,’Red Rock fest’ will be conducted in 13 districts of the state including the capital city from January 27 to February 22.
Popular Rock bands of the state,Alien Gods and the winner of the first edition Red ribbon MMC contest,Symmetry Clan,will perform as guest bands in the district venues and at Itanagar during grand finale,sources informed.
The Red Rock fest this year in Arunachal Pradesh with the theme ‘Youths are the Solution not the Problem’ aims at mobilizing youth’s energy in creating awareness on HIV/AIDS among the youth.
