Mamata hopes for a stable Govt at Centre

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee hoped that there would be a stable government at the Centre.

With the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections ending on Wednesday,Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee hoped that there would be a stable government at the Centre.

“Let us hope for a stable government at the Centre,” Banerjee,who has allied with the Congress,told reporters in Kolkata.

Alleging that the CPI(M) resorted to rigging,terror tactics and false voting in many constituencies,Banerjee said “We are grateful to the people because they resisted the rigging and terror by the CPI(M) and voted.”

She claimed that CPI(M) patriarch Jyoti Basu did not vote for the first time and it was his “no-confidence on the CPI(M)”.

“This is the first time that Basu did not vote. We respect his age. He could have used a wheelchair or ambulance. I am grateful to Basu,” she said.

Stating that she spoke to the Union Home Secretary during the day,Mamata said “the Centre should take steps to restore law and order in the state. This is a serious situation. We want peace. We have also lodged complaints with the EC.”

She alleged that TC general secretary Mukul Roy was attacked while “Marxists goons opened fire at Joynagar and Halisahar.”
