Kerala: Court order to raid Kodiyeri,DGP houses

Acting upon a private petition,the Thiruvananthapuram CJM court (II) on Friday ordered raid at the residences of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and DGP Jacob Punnoose to recover an intelligence report.

Acting upon a private petition,the Thiruvananthapuram chief judicial magistrate court (II) on Friday ordered raid at the residences of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and DGP Jacob Punnoose to recover an intelligence report pertaining to the police firing at Cheriyathura near here.

Advocate Neyyattinkara Nagaraj,in his plea seeking probe into the Cheriyathura firing which killed five persons,had alleged that the Home Minister and the DGP had stashed the intelligence report regarding the Cheriyathura incident.

The petitioner sought that additional DGP (Intelligence) Siby Mathew conduct the raid.

Admitting the petition,magistrate A M Basheer ordered the raid by the state intelligence chief.
