A house belonging to the wife of hardline Hurriyat Conference leader Ghulam Mohammad Khan alias Sopori was sealed by police here today.
The order for the attachment of the house,located in Maisuma colony in uptown Channipora locality,was issued by then Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda last month.
Terming the attachment order as “illegal”,Sopori,the chairman of breakaway faction of the People’s League,said he would approach the High Court in this regard.
A member of the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference,Sopori alleged the order was illegal and was intened to frame him.
He alleged he was not served any eviction notice before his family was thrown out of the house.
The house was sealed after investigations revealed that Sopori had allegedly earned a huge amount of money by acting as a conduit for a banned militant outfit,police said.
“The house belongs to my wife and not me. I have been a political worker and have no links with any armed outfit,” Sopori,camping with his family at the Residency road,said.
