Four police personnel injured in firing in Assam

Unidentified gunmen fired at patrolling police injuring four personnel including the officer-in-charge.

Four police personnel,including the officer-in-charge of a police station,were injured when unidentified gunmen fired at them in Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district on Wednesday.

The unidentified persons opened fire on patrolling police personnel in Amdala Janpar village at around 2 AM leaving in four police personnel,including the officer-in charge of the police station,injured,police said.

The policemen retaliated but the gunmen managed to escape under the cover of darkness. A massive search operation has been launched in the area to nab them.
