A local court in Ganderbal district of Kashmir has sentenced a 70-year-old man to one month’s simple imprisonment for attacking and injuring a government official discharging his duty.
Judicial Magistrate Ummi Kulsoom handed Mohammad Ramzan Tantray the prison term and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him after finding him guilty under section 332 Ranbir Penal Code.
Tantray had assaulted Engineer Abdul Rashid,resulting in injuries to him,while the latter was discharging his official duties at Guzarbal in the district in December 2006.
