Boy dies,4 suffer serious injuries in fire incident in J-K

The incident occurred in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

A 10-year-old boy was charred to death and four members of his family were critically injured in a fire incident in Kupwara district of north Kashmir,police said today.

Athar Ahmad Tantray died on the spot,while his parents and two other siblings were critically injured after their house caught fire at village Bohipora,90 kms from here,last evening,a police spokesman said.

He said the injured — Nissar Ahmad Tantray,his wife Zamrooda and their daughter Zeenat and son Salim – were admitted to SMHS hospital here.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the house had caught fire due to leakage of the cooking gas,he said,adding the house suffered extensive damage in the incident.

In a separate incident,three residential houses were damaged in a fire at Safakadal locality of downtown Srinagar last night,but none was hurt,the spokesman said.
