Seven persons,including an army jawan were on Friday killed and five others injured in separate road accidents here,police said.
In a collision between two motorcyles coming from opposite direction of the state National Highway,two bike borne youth,including an army jawan,were killed and another was injured at Devika Bridge,54 kms from here,they said.
The army jawan has been identified as sepoy Rameshwar Singh,they said,adding that the injured was hospitalised.
In another incident,an oil tanker on its way from Srinagar to Jammu skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Jawahar Tunnel,about 192-kms from here,in Ramban district on Friday afternoon,they said.
Two women and driver of a tanker were killed on the spot and four others were injured,they said adding the injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
One driver,identified as Ayaz,was killed when his tipper skidded off the Highway and rolled down into a gorge at Banihal belt of Ramban district this morning,they said,adding,the body was recovered from the spot.
One more person Masart Ram was killed when a truck rolled down into a gorge on Paddar-Kishtwar road in the district on Thursday night,they said,adding that bodies were recovered and handed over to their families for last rites.
