North India, which usually sees high temperatures and even heatwaves at this time of the year, is currently witnessing a much cooler summer with rains and generally cloudy conditions. According to IMD, Light to moderate widespread rainfall is likely over parts of northwest India in the next 24 hours. Snowfall conditions are also likely in some places, along with thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds.

As per IMD, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab will witness heavy rainfall on May 2 whereas west Rajasthan will face duststorms on May 4.
