Indian Railways, Kamakhya Junction railway station: Indian Railways (IR) has upgraded the infrastructure at Assam’s Kamakhya Junction for the upkeep of upcoming Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express train services. The rail projects in the state comes under the administrative control of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone.

As part of the upgradation work at Kamakhya railway station, the zonal railway has completed electrification of both pit lines, thus enhancing operational capabilities at the station.

“This significant infrastructure upgrade marks a major milestone in enhancing maintenance capabilities and preparing the station for the efficient handling and upkeep of upcoming Vande Bharat Express and Amrit Bharat train services,” Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), NFR said in a statement.
