BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi Saturday took potshots at AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi saying the Congress bubble has burst and the country will not accept lies anymore. Modi said while he was constantly thinking about the welfare of the country, the Congress was only thinking about stopping him.

Modi, who was in Chandigarh to address the Bharat Vijay Rally said, “The shehzada claims Modi is not a person, he is an ideology. I agree with him. For us thought is higher than the person. The country is greater than the family. I am proud that I grew up with the ideology of sacrifice,” Modi added. He said, “Shehzada says Congress is a thought. I feel the Congress is now in deep thought about how a tea vendor is challenging a family that has ruled the country for 80 years.”

Modi also criticised the Congress for not taking corruption seriously and fielding tainted candidates in the elections. He said the party has fielded those accused in the rail bribery scam and the Adarsh scam.

Modi said it is to hide their lack of development in all these years that the party only talks of secularism. “You have given 60 years to them to rule, I ask only for 60 months. Trust me once. I will be your servant and not ruler,” he said.
