
In another bureaucratic reshuffle, the Narendra Modi government has posted Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram as the new Tourism Secretary.
A 1978-batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, Mayaram, was presently working as Finance Secretary and Secretary, Departmemt of Economic Affairs. He will now replace 1977-batch J&K cadre IAS officer Parvez Dewan, who retires on October 31, as Tourism Secretary.
Mayaram will be replaced as the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, by Rajasthan cadre 1978-batch IAS officer Rajiv Mehrishi.
The government has also approved the creation of a post of Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Coal in the rank and pay of Secretary with immediate effect with the direction that the Ministry may obtain approval of the Union Cabinet ex-post facto.

Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Anil Swarup, currently posted as Additional Secretary, Secretariat for CCI, Cabinet Secretariat, has now been appointed Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Coal in the rank and pay of Secretary against the newly created post.
The government has also decided to appoint 1980-batch J&K cadre IAS officer Ashok Kumar Angurana as the new Panchayati Raj Secretary. He was currently posted as Managing Director, TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Vinod Agrawal, currently posted as Adviser, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs, has now been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes.
Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Prabhu Dayal Meena, currently serving as Special Secretary, Department of Land Resources, will be the new Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
Water Resources Secretary Alok Rawat, IAS(SK:77), Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources will now be the new Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Uttar Pradesh cadre officer Anuj Kumar Bishnoi, currently posted as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence will be the new Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.
