Former actress Nagma was appointed on Tuesday as a general secretary of All India Mahila Congress, while former DCW chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh was made the chief of Mahila Congress for Delhi unit.
The list of office-bearers of the Mahila Congress, approved by the party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, also includes nine secretaries. Shobha Oza, who is also party spokesperson, is the head of the Mahila Congress.
Charulata Tokas, daughter of the late Rajasthan Governor Prabha Rau, was made the head of the Maharashtra unit of the Mahila Congress. Susila Negi was appointed as the head of the Himachal Pradesh unit, while Subratta Dutta was made the head of West Bengal unit.
The former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Barkha Shukla Singh, was at loggerheads with the Arvind Kejriwal government after she issued summons to AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in the wake of a complaint against him. Later, the Delhi government had issued her a show cause notice.
