A day after polls, while most political leaders looked forward to much needed rest following hectic campaigning, PPP president Manpreet Singh Badal was seen at a protest march in Gidderbaha.
Accompanying Manpreet were local Congress MLA Amarinder Raja Warring and Congress MLA Joginder Singh Panjgraian, who is the Lok Sabha candidate from Faridkot. The trio demanded suspension of DSP Gagandeep Singh Bhullar for his alleged misconduct and said that the video of the police officer’s ‘misbehaviour’ had been sent to EC and human rights commission for suitable action.
The DSP allegedly misbehaved outside the polling booth of DAV Viash School on Wednesday evening. According to Warring, after receiving complaints of fake voting, he had gone to the house of a supporter near the polling booth yesterday. SAD supporters allegedly ghearoed the house and held him hostage for an hour.
Warring alleged that the DSP abused him while SAD workers manhandled him. He accused SAD constituency in-charge Dimpy Dhillon and Sunny Dhillon of being responsible for the ruckus.
He also alleged that while the ruckus was going on, more than 100 fake voters had cast their votes in the DAV School polling booths.
Joginder Singh supported Warring as Gidderbaha falls in Faridkot parliamentary constituency, and Warring was taking care of poll arrangements in Gidderbaha.
Police denied the allegations, only admitting that there was tension for few minutes. Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu SP(H) said he had the situation under control within a few minutes.
