The Opposition BJP Friday targeted the state government yet again as Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav skipped the Assembly session on a day when he had to answer questions. It is for the second consecutive time that he skipped the session citing ‘illness’, especially on days when he had to answer questions related to the health department. Tej Pratap has not spoken in Assembly so far.
When JD(U)’s Phulwari Sharif MLA Shyam Rajak asked a question as to why the sex ratio in Bihar was increasing, rural development minister Shravan Kumar stood up to answer.
When leader of Opposition Prem Kumar sought to know why Tej Pratap was absent, Shravan Kumar said, “There has been a precedence of minister-in-charge taking questions in absence of minister. The Opposition should not have any problems with it.”
Senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav took a swipe at the health minister’s absence. “Hum sab swasthya mantri ke swasthya ko lekar chintit hai (We are concerned about the health of the health minister)”, said Yadav. Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad replied: “He (Tej Pratap) has been suffering from viral infection”.
