Calling for “change” in Bihar, the BJP announced Saturday that Parivartan Yatras would roll out from four places simultaneously on August 12 and cover all 243 assembly constituencies by August 28 in the run-up to state elections.
Taking the fight to the JD(U) camp, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be in Gaya for a rally Sunday, will join the campaign, addressing “parivartan” rallies in Saharsa on August 18 and in Bhagalpur on August 30.
Union Minister Ananth Kumar, who is also the party in-charge for the assembly elections, announced Saturday that “the movement for change in Bihar has started and the BJP and NDA are together”.
“BJP president Amit Shah launched it by giving the green signal to 200 Parivartan Raths. We are now going to launch four Parivartan Yatras to cover the entire state this month.”
“Our main theme will be parivartan (change). Bihar leaders Sushil Kumar Modi, Nand Kishore Yadav, Giriraj Singh and Radha Mohan Singh will lead these yatras. There will be meetings in each assembly constituency,” he said.
Nand Kishore Yadav told The Sunday Express: “Sushil Modi will lead the yatra from Sonepur, Radha Mohan Singh from Dalsinghsarai while I will start from Rajgir. We will stress on the need for change and appeal to people to ensure that the party and alliance at the Centre is also voted to power in the state for comprehensive growth of Bihar.”
Giriraj Singh will undertake the fourth yatra from Bihta.
“We will highlight the betrayal of mandate by Nitish Kumar, tell people what the Prime Minister has given and can give Bihar. Let us have an NDA government here to go with NDA rule at the Centre,” Yadav said.
