Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asked his party members to ensure that the common man does not face hardships, and that reforms should be for all sectors, not just the economy, so that they contribute to the ease of living.
“The Prime Minister said it is our responsibility to see that the lives of the common man are easy and the citizens should not face any hardships,” Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, addressing the media after the NDA parliamentary party meeting.
“The Prime Minister has laid great emphasis on reforms to improve people’s lives. Reforms do not just mean economic reforms or financial reforms. He meant reforms to make the lives of ordinary people in the country easier and more comfortable. Reforms in every sector. So, he has given us very good guidelines,” Rijiju said.
Sources said PM Modi was referring to the difficulties common men face in different fields for different processes involving government services.
His remarks came in the wake of the government preparing to bring the Jan Vishwas bill 2.0 for ease of doing business. The Jan Vishwas Bill 2.0 is a legislative reform to further ease doing business by decriminalising minor offences, replacing jail with warnings/fines, rationalising penalties, and boosting digital compliance, building on the 2023 Act to create a trust-based, business-friendly environment.
According to sources, Modi took exception to the Opposition’s criticism that the debate on Vande Mataram in Parliament was for political reasons ahead of elections in West Bengal.
