As the BJP’s poll preparations get into full swing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged his Council of Ministers to inform the people about the projects and schemes initiated by various ministries, sources said.
In a meeting with the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said the information about the ongoing projects should be communicated in simple language. The meeting, held four months after one in June, was expected to review the implementation of the welfare and other schemes of the government.
There were presentation on the progress of the Namami Gange and the projects undertaken in the MSME sector, sources said.
Secretary, Water Resources, U P Singh presented a report on the progress of the projects under Namami Gange, sources added.
“The Prime Minister said because these aspects are technical, such as explaining water quality or sewage treatment plans, its difficult for the common man to understand and recommended more dissemination of information in simple way and language that can be understood,” said an official present in the meeting.
The meeting of the council of ministers followed the Cabinet Meeting. The cabinet ministers meet every Wednesday to take policy decisions.
