Parliament Monsoon Session Live Updates: In order to plan strategies to overcome the current stalemate in Parliament and make the Opposition’s demands heard, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will host a breakfast meeting for Opposition leaders at his residence on Tuesday.
As chaos looms over the Monsoon Session, Opposition parties are planning to hold a parallel parliament outside the building as “only the government version is coming out” in the absence of any discussions on protested issues. A few parties have also proposed a mock Parliament for this purpose. Further options to undertake this will be explored at the Opposition meet tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Parliament proceedings in both Houses were adjourned for the day, amid repeated disruptions by Opposition members who continued their protest over the Pegasus spyware controversy and other issues.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that it is the government’s fault if the house is not functioning and that a discussion on the Pegasus issue will “expose” them.
