Not enough snow in Gulmarg, winter games are postponed
The winter sporting event was set to begin on February 22, but with the slopes running out of snow for skiing, the games have now been deferred until the next bout of snow

The winter sporting event was set to begin on February 22, but with the slopes running out of snow for skiing, the games have now been deferred until the next bout of snow, the organisers announced.
“The (Khelo India) games have been postponed because of insufficient snow in Gulmarg,” Rauf Tramboo, president of Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir and the competition manager for Khelo India, told The Indian Express. “We are expecting snowfall on 19 and 20th and then again on the 25th and 26th of this month. If we get sufficient snow, we will most likely organise the winter games in the first week of March”.
