NIA raids 5 locations across country in Operation Sindoor-linked cyber terrorism case
The case pertains to a sophisticated DDoS attack against 54 websites of Government of India entities during the time of Operation Sindoor last year.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted searches at five locations across five states in connection with the ongoing investigation into a cyber terrorism case registered in Gujarat.
The searches were carried out in Junnar in Pune, Maharashtra; Nadiad in Kheda, Gujarat; Ramagundam in Karimnagar, Telangana; Gopalganj in Bihar; and Delhi. They were in connection with a case registered on June 25, 2025, a NIA spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, the accused had attempted a sophisticated Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack against 54 websites of Government of India entities during the time of Operation Sindoor last year.
A DDoS attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt normal traffic to a server, service, or network by flooding it with a massive volume of illegitimate internet traffic from multiple compromised sources.
“The websites targeted included critical computer resources and critical information infrastructure, with the intent to compromise national sovereignty, security and unity, and to incite public fear. Two accused have already been arrested in the case, which was originally registered by the Gujarat ATS,” the spokesperson said.
During the investigation, suspects who allegedly provided support and assistance to the accused in preparing for and upgrading their skills to carry out DDoS attacks were identified through technical analysis, and searches were conducted at their premises on Monday morning following the issuance of search warrants by the competent court, the spokesperson added.
During the search, various digital devices and documents containing incriminating material related to hacking activities were seized, and the suspects were examined regarding their association with the arrested accused, the spokesperson said. A total of three laptops, five mobile phones and other digital devices, including pen drives, were seized following due procedure.
