The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences announced Friday that NEET-PG 2024, the qualifying examination for postgraduate medical courses which was postponed last month, will be conducted on August 11. The test, the NBEMS said, will be conducted in two shifts and the scores of the candidates will be normalised.
As the NBEMS announced the date of the examination, officials said it will be conducted only at TCS iON centres and not outsourced centres.

This is the first time that the test will be conducted in two batches. Sources said this will ensure that the examination is conducted in fewer centres.
“There has been an increase in the number of students appearing for the paper over the years. To ensure that the examination is completely secure and robust, this time it will be conducted only in TCS iON centres and not outsourced ones,” a senior official said.
The NEET-PG exam is conducted by TCS iON in collaboration with the NBEMS every year. Sources said about a quarter of exam centres for NEET-PG usually used to be that of private entities other than those of TCS iON.
The number of PG seats have nearly doubled in the last decade, totalling nearly 68,000 for the current session. Around 2.27 lakh students will appear for the NEET-PG.
The official said “sensitive centres” will be avoided this year. This will include centres in far-flung areas and where security is not completely controlled by TCS iON.
Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra said, “The test will be conducted only in our reliable centres.”
The NEET-PG was postponed a day ahead of its scheduled June 23 date as a “precautionary measure”.
The notice Friday also stated that the cut-off date – the date by which candidates must have finished their mandatory one-year internship – will continue to be August 15.\
The NBEMS also released a notice stating that there was no leak of papers of the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination, a test conducted twice a year for Indian medical graduates from other countries to qualify for practice within India.
Chandra said there has been no leak of FMGE question papers because the question papers are prepared only a few hours ahead of the examination as is the case with any other computer-based test.
