A big win for the saffron party is instrumental in Nagpur, the backyard of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological fountainhead of the party. Also, the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and union minister Nitin Gadkari, both of whom campaigned heavily in the area, are from Nagpur.
