The BJP on Thursday released its third list of candidates for the November 28 elections in Madhya Pradesh, bringing to an end the days of speculation over certain crucial seats in Bhopal and Indore that had kept the ruling party on the edge with prospects of rebellion.
Former chief minister Babulal Gaur, who had threatened to contest as an Independent, was placated by the party that fielded his daughter-in-law Krishna Gaur, a former mayor, from Govindpura in Bhopal.
Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya’s son Akash has been fielded from Indore-3 and his confidant Ramesh Mendola from Indore-2. MLA Usha Thakur has been shifted to Mhow, the constituency represented by Kailash Vijayvargiya.
Ajit Borasi, son of former Congress Lok Sabha member Premchand Guddu who recently defected to the BJP, will contest from Ghatiya constituency. The third list contains names of 32 candidates. Friday is the last day of filing the nomination for the polls.
