The state cabinet on Tuesday gave sanction for Rs 1,413 crore for Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath railway line. The total cost of the project is Rs 2,826 crore of which 50 per cent would be the Centre’s share. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “The project is a tribute to the late Gopinath Munde on his first death anniversary on June 3.”
Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his video conference with state chief secretary Swadheen Kshtriya had given the consent for the project. The project which was pending for several decades was being pursued by the state leaders including Munde. Fadnavis after taking the charge of state had pursued the same with Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
The chief minister said, “I am happy the project which was dear to Mundesaheb will now become a reality. Today, we have given the approval for the 50 per cent share of our funds for the project. The Centre has already given the consent.”
He added, “The decision is a tribute to our beloved leader Gopinathji Munde.”
