Narendra Modi-bashing replaced the original agenda of an extended Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) executive meeting Thursday. One after the other, leaders attacked the Gujarat CM for the propaganda that he rescued 15,000 pilgrims in Uttarakhand. This is unfortunate. No one should try to gain political mileage from such tragedies, chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said.
MPCC was meeting for the first time after the elevation of AICC general secretary Mohan Prakash as incharge of Maharashtra.
The man who wants to make political gain from a tragedy should be condemned across the country, AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik said. Earlier,Lok Sabha MP from Mumbai and AICC general secretary Gurudas Kamat asked party workers to be ready to go it alone in the 2014 Assembly and Parliament elections. We are part of an alliance (with NCP). But we should also be ready to fight elections on our own,if need arises, he said.
