In an editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, the party said: “Chief Minister, you should not play with fire of Saamana. What you got due to Modi’s blessings will be burnt in Saamana’s fire… Saamana is the people’s loudspeaker and is the mirror for liars.”
The editorial was referring to a statement that Fadnavis had made on Wednesday, on the government completing four years in power. “Saamana does not run the government but I run the government,” he had told mediapersons.
The Sena also attacked Fadnavis on his remarks that BJP and Sena would come together for the 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. “Fadnavis also said the alliance is a must to avoid division of Hindutva votes… Sena’s keys are not in hands BJP’s office in Nariman Point but in the hands of lakhs of Shiv sainiks. In the party’s national executive, we passed a resolution to contest polls solo and get power in Maharashtra. The Sena’s resolution is not hollow speak,” the editorial said.
The Sena claimed that the environment is such that it seems that the fifth year in power is dangerous for Fadnavis and the government. “So, don’t tells us what we should do but we will decide our path and don’t need anybody’s guidance,” the editorial said.
Referring to Fadnavis’ statement that the Sena is not unhappy, the party said that the CM made this statement as “his chair has our support and he wants to complete the fifth year of the government”.
“We want to take forward Sena and Maharashtra. Sena is not born to give support to others chairs. Devendraji, don’t worry about our unhappiness but people in Maharashtra are unhappy and (you) should worry about them,” the editorial said.
